Introduction

This treaty represents the last parity treaty concluded between the kings of Ḫatti and Kizzuwatna. During Zidanta's reign, Pilliya and his kingdom were conquered by Paratarna of Mittanni. Pilliya would again appear in history when he sealed a treaty with Idri-mi of Mukiš, when that ruler likewise submitted to Paratarna.



Translation

§1

My ⌈Sun⌉, Great King Zidanza (II), King of Ḫa[tti, and Pilliya], ⌈King⌉ of Kizzuwatna make (this) peace treaty. Thusly they join together: Whatever cities [of My Sun Mr. Pilliya seized,] may they be (that) of My Sun alone! [Whatever cities of] Mr. Pil[liya] I seized, [may they b]e that of Mr. Pilliya alone!

§2

Whatever fortified cities [I], My Sun, [. . . . .] What ones are handed over1, may My Sun no[t . . .] Whatever fortified cities [I?] hold, [. . . . .] Mr. Pilliya will not fortify (them). [If you do fortify (them)], then you will transgress the oath!

§3

(If?) the Great King makes a city o[r a ... into a] ba[ck]/aga[in] [. . .] may not [. . .]
