§1
Say to My Sun, my lord:
Thusly Mr. Adad-bēlī, you servant:

§2
The enemy crossed over in large numbers at two places. The one war-band crossed at the city of Išteruwa, and the other war-band crossed at the city of Zišpa.

§3
Whether they will go across into the land of Mt. Šakaddunuwa, or whether they will perhaps turn back and come into the land, they have not yet revealed anything behind themselves.

§4
If you, My Sun, my lord, would send forth some lord, then the enemy would not wreak havoc in the land.

§5
I keep sending scouts of the long road into Mt. Ḫapadduini. When they bring back the news to me - "The mountain is clear from the matter of the enemy" - then I will let the oxen and sheep down from Tapikka just so.

§6

May My Sun, my lord, know the aforementioned things!

COMMENTARY

§5 Note the strong similarity between this passage and the Instructions for the Lords of the Towers text.
